Dr. Abusalameh is a consultant rheumatologist at Mediclinic Airport hospital in Abu Dhabi UAE. Previously rheumatology clinical lead at Royal Devon University Healthcare trust in the UK.
He co-ran a combined rheumatology-dermatology service in the UK and led specialized clinics focused on biologic therapies and musculoskeletal and vasculitis ultrasound.

In 2017, Dr. Abusalameh established and lead the Exeter Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) Fast Track Service, integrating ultrasound for rapid diagnosis of GCA. He was principal investigator of several studies on large vessel vasculitis and PMR in the UK.

He was awarded the Local Clinical Excellence Award in 2019. He has been a clinical examiner for the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) since 2019, assessing candidates for the MRCP exams both in the UK and internationally.
